Block Walls in Idaho Falls
Idaho Falls has a City document of its own on the Building page, titled City of Idaho Falls Geographic Design Criteria. The page lists the title only and does not say what the document contains or whether it applies to a block wall, so this site states nothing from it.

Permits and the City of Idaho Falls rules
The City of Idaho Falls' Apply for a Permit page prints a code section under which an owner or the owner's authorized agent who intends to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move or demolish a building or structure shall first make application to the building official and obtain the required permit. It does not mention a wall, and we do not say a permit is or is not needed for a block wall.

Block Walls around Idaho Falls
The Building page (read October 7, 2026) lists it among its Documents, Codes & Resources, beside Clear View Requirements and Required Inspections for New Residential Home. The Apply for a Permit page names the City's own system, the Cityworks Permitting System, and says a link on the page opens the public portal. Neither page mentions a wall.
Neither City page mentions a wall, so what follows is our inference, not a rule: a document titled Geographic Design Criteria is, by its title, about criteria that depend on geography, so someone planning a block wall in Idaho Falls has a reason to ask the City's building office whether it applies. We say nothing about any lot.
